Announced in February and following a recent teaser of its design, the vehicle has been named through an imaginative nationwide campaign. Reflecting the choice of thousands of people, Škoda Auto India’s new SUV will be called the Kylaq, embodying a unique connection with its future drivers.
Ludhiana, August 14, 2024 (News Team): On its path towards growth and expansion in the Indian market, Škoda Auto India has registered itself on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM)portal as a seller for its selected cars. GeM is set to become the world’s largest government e-procurement portal, surpassing South Korea’s KONEPS, by the end of this fiscal year. The first Škoda has already been delivered to a government buyer through the GeM portal.
The Platform
The GeM portal is the national public procurement portal for government buyers. It is an end- to-end online marketplace that facilitates procurement of goods and services by Central & State Ministries, Departments, Central & State Public Enterprises, Autonomous Institutions & Local Government bodies. The portal is under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
GeM provides a paperless, cashless and contactless ecosystem for government buyers to directly purchase products and services from pan-India sellers and service providers through an online platform. The platform utilises the agility and speed that come along with digitalisation and automation to reinvigorate public procurement systems in India.
Convenience and Transparency
GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and inclusivity in public procurement. The platform provides e-bidding, e-auction, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation facilities. The portal enables government departments to have direct access to procure Škoda Auto India cars in its fleet amongst other cars listed on GeM portal and furthers its promotion of made-in-India products. The first delivery of a Škoda has already been implemented to a government buyer through GeM.
The GeM Škodas
Škoda Auto India is equipped with a fully tested 5-star-safe fleet of cars. The made-in-India Kushaq and Slavia are currently the cars available on the GeM portal. Both the cars are based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, developed by teams in India and Czech, specifically for the Indian market and are also exported to other countries from India. The duo has earned a full 5-stars for adults and children under Global NCAP’s latest test protocols. The Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan are powered by a choice of 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engines that are mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic or a seven-speed DSG transmission.
Ludhiana, August 09, 2024 (News Team): In the wake of severe floods and heavy rains across various regions in India, Škoda Auto India have implemented a proactive Škoda Flood Relief Support programme. Support is extended to every flood-affected Škoda car across the country andto customers who have not opted for Road Side Assistance (RSA).

The Škoda Flood Relief Support is a programme offering proactive RSA support to all Škoda cars and customers affected by floods anywhere in India. Customers who have not opted for RSA will also be provided this service till 15thSeptember, 2024, ensuring they have access to mobility and are not stranded during the monsoon season. The company has set up two toll-free numbers --1800 209 4646 or1800 102 6464 – to ensure customers have 24-hour access and more than one option to reach out to assistance. Škoda Auto India has also issued Expert Guidelines for Vehicle Floor Repair to all its dealers.
Service
Škoda Auto India has always offered a 4-year/100,000 km warranty as standard for all its new cars with an option to extend it to the 5th and 6th year with upto 150,000 kms. In addition, the company’s fleet consists entirely of 5-star rated, safety-tested cars for both adults and children. The latest Flood Relief Support is yet another endeavour by the manufacturer to provide a hassle-free ownership and maintenance experience to its customers.

The new Kodiaq was first introduced in 2022. However, all cars allocated for the year were sold within a couple of weeks. Ludhiana, May 25, 2023 (News Team): Škoda Auto is completing the top end of its all-electric SUV series by launching the new Enyaq L&K. Steeped in Škoda tradition, this variant named after the Czech car company’s founders Václav Laurin and Václav Klement is distinguished by specific exterior and interior design features and comes with a particularly comprehensive range of standard equipment. There are extensive technical upgrades, as well. The rear-wheel-drive Enyaq L&K 85 and the Enyaq L&K 85x with all-wheel drive deliver a system output of 210 kW*.They offer an increased range of up to 570 kilometers**on the WLTP cycle along with battery charging times – from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 30 minutes. The Enyaq L&K is the first Škoda model to feature a new User interface for enhanced ease of use, with updated graphics that reflect the new Škoda CI.

Ludhiana, May 08, 2023 (News Team): Škoda Auto India announced it will continue keeping its foot on the accelerator when it comes to safety of its customers. Globally, Škoda Auto has a 50-year-old legacy with crash tests and safety. A Škoda 100 L is the first documented crash test in Prague-Ruzyně in former Czechoslovakia in 1972. Currently, the company has a world-class, state-of-the-art Polygon test centre in Úhelnice, which has been awarded Crash Laboratory of the year 2020 by the Automotive Testing Technology International trade journal. And every global Škoda since 2008 has been rated 5-star by Euro NCAP.
Ludhiana, May 05, 2023 (News Team): While Škoda Auto India’s INDIA 2.0 cars top the safety charts among India-made cars, the company introduced its third model that completes its 5-star-safe fleet -- the 2023 Škoda Kodiaq luxury 4x4. The Kodiaq nameplate was first introduced in India in 2017, and globally, the Kodiaq was Škoda Auto’s first full-size SUV with the capacity to seat 7. Available in India as a parts and components vehicle under limited numbers so far, the 2023 Kodiaq will see now see allotments of 750 cars every quarter. For 2022, all allotments for the Kodiaq were filled within 24 hours.

Ludhiana, March 16, 2023 (News Team): The Škoda Auto Group1) delivered 731,300 vehicles worldwide in 2022 and increased its revenues year-on-year by 18.5% to 21 billion euros (2021: 17.7 billion euros). The market environment remained challenging due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage, persisting supply chain issues and a substantial increase in raw material prices. Thanks to effective countermeasures, the car manufacturer managed to achieve a positive operating profit amounting to 628 million euros (2021: 1.083 billion euros; -42%). This was attained despite the financial burden of extraordinary effects regarding the situation in Russia. The negative impacts related to the business in Russia were estimated at almost 700 million euros. Therefore, the return on sales without these extraordinary effects slightly exceeded last year's 6.1%, but dropped to 3.0% including extraordinary effects. Despite the current challenges, Škoda continues to be financially sound, pushing the internationalization of the company and keeps investing heavily into electromobility and digitalization.
