Ludhiana, May 12, 2023 (News Team): NEHRU SIDHANT KENDER TRUST commemorated the 59th Death Anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on 12th May, 2023 at an impressive function held at: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, Feroze Gandhi Market, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. Students from 31 schools of Ludhiana were present in large numbers along with the eminent citizens of Ludhiana. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. The function started with floral tributes paid to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru by the Chief Guest and the Trustees.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President of the Trust welcomed the Chief Guest and the students present on the occasion. He also shared the activities of the Trust and informed the audience that the Trust distributed scholarships to the tune of Rs. 1 Crore to 1500 students by the way of scholarships and awards during the year 2022-23.
The Trust had also organized 28th Inter-School Declamation Contest on 5th May, 2023 in which 23 schools from Ludhiana had participated. The Chief Guest gave away the trophies to the winners of the contest & Nehru Championship Trophy to the winner team of B.C.M. Senior Secondary School, Focal Point. Besides this, the individual prizes were distributed to the students. The Chief Guest also distributed scholarship cheques of Rs. 10,26,000/- to students of 31 Schools of the city. He also spoke about the Horizon School of Excellence at Bhamian Road, which will be a CBSE affiliated school and is providing free education to underprivileged children.
Those present on the occasion were Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President, Bipin Gupta, General Secretary, Sunil Gupta, Vice President, G. L. Bassi, Treasurer, Dr. S. C. Ahuja, Sh. Siddharth Aggarwal, Parveen Sayal, Rashmi Grover, all Trustees and other members of various committees of Nehru Sidhant Kener Trust & other dignitaries.
The Chief Guest Mandeep Singh Sidhu, IPS, Police Commissioner of Ludhiana appreciated the various charitable & social initiatives undertaken by the Trust. He called upon the children to follow the path of hard work and honesty.
