Ludhiana, April 07, 2023 (News Team): Sat Paul Mittal School celebrated its vicennial milestone in Ludhiana today, in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Shashi Tharoor, a renowned author, and former international civil servant along and currently a Member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram with Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Chairman, Governing Council, Sat Paul Mittal School and Bhupinder Gogia, Principal, Sat Paul Mittal School. The members of the Governing Council members and the Academic Advisory Council and several other dignitaries were also present at the momentous occasion.
The celebrations began with the lighting of the lamp and a dance performance by proud Satyans followed by the school tour. Dr. Shashi Tharoor was appreciative of the school infrastructure - spacious and well-ventilated classrooms fitted with interactive smart panels and state of the Art, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Computer and Stem Labs. Dr. Tharoor congratulated the school on achieving this milestone and applauded the school’s effort towards academic excellence, child-centricity and curriculum, which enables the institution to facilitate the student’s holistic development consequence of fabricating ‘Enlightened Citizens’ with moral values. He also commended the institution for its democratic functioning, consideration of integrated development and schooling for life, and development of 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making.
During the visit, Dr. Tharoor’s had a thought-provoking and interactive session with the students which inspired the Satyans to strive hard to develop intellectual capabilities and become effective and successful nation-builders. During his conversation with students, he shared his mantras of success - The 3 P’s: Perseverance, Patience and Practice. He also steered the students towards self-belief, as it is precisely faith that makes thinking possible. Dr. Tharoor cherished the curiosity and confidence of the students, who conducted themselves with great poise and proficiency during the session.
Students and staff members thoroughly enjoyed engaging with Dr. Tharoor and were greatly charmed by Dr. Tharoor’s wit, knowledge and his unique way of weaving words together. The iconic leader was felicitated by the Chairman Rakesh Bharti Mittal, and a vote of thanks was proposed by the Principal Bhupinder Gogia. The event culminated on a happy note with Punjab's breathtaking dance - Bhangra and a respectful rendition of the National Anthem.
