GNG college students taking part in Swachhata campaign |
Ludhiana, August 18, 2017 (Manisha Sharma): A special Swachhata campaign was organized by NSS Volunteers of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town in Ludhiana today. Principal Dr. Charanjit Mahal motivated the NSS Volunteers and apprised them regarding the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their surrounding areas to make India clean and green.
Interacting with the staff and students she suggested that people should help local bodies in taking up pollution free solid waste management by segregating waste at source and not expecting others to clean the filth created by them. NSS volunteers took pledge for making efforts to make the college campus neat and clean and sensitize their peer groups to assume collective responsibility for Nation’s cleanliness.
Anjali Sharma, Ravi Soni and Suresh Kumar from Municipal Coporation, Ludhiana Sub Zone D-2, Model Town guided the students to download Swachhata MOUD app on their mobile phones to make Ludhiana a Smart City.
