Ludhiana, August 17, 2017 (Tarvinder Kaur): GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar has been designated as the Site Investigator under ICAR funded project “Addressing Farmers’ Suicide Issue through Capacity Building of Farming Families” by PAU, Ludhiana due to its proved academic excellence and spirited zeal to serve the society. An Introductory seminar ‘UTSHAH’ was held in the college campus under the guidance of Dr. Sarabjeet Singh, Professor of Journalism, PAU Ludhiana. Dr. Gurneet Chahal acquainted the students with the importance of positivity, simplicity and a drug free personality.
Dr. S.S. Deol, Principal along with Dr. H.S. Brar, College Registrar, welcomed the team and congratulated Dr. Balwinder Pal Singh, Vice Principal, Dr. Paramjit Kaur Grewal, HOD Psychology, Dr. Baljit Singh, HOD History and Manjot Kaur for their initiative venture as a much needed effort to eradicate the menace of suicide from the farming community.
The students of Department of Psychology of the college enrolled themselves as ‘Peer Support Volunteers’ and shall be imparted training in providing ‘Psychology First Aid’ in a two day training programme in the college premises.
