Ludhiana, August 14, 2017 (Tarvinder Kaur): Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, organized a warm fresher’s party ‘NOVATO FIESTA’ to welcome the first year students of session 2017-18 of B.Com and M.com on today August 14, 2017.
The mesmerizing music, songs, flash lights and the exuberant students were the defining moments of the party complimenting the theme of the event which catered around rustic cages and flowers. Students rocked the stage with their captivating dance performances. Classical dance and fusion bhangra were the highlights of the event where the students enthralled the gathering with rhythmic beats. The auditorium was set ablaze with a ramp walk by beautiful models, flaunting their attires and competing for the coveted titles.
Japneet Kaur was adjudged Miss Fiesta B.com, Radhika Tiwari and Diksha were declared first and second runners-up respectively. Other categories awarded were Aashmeen (Miss Bonfire) and Harman (Miss Sassitude). Kajal Kalra bagged the title of Miss Fiesta M.com and Sanchi Jain was crowned as Miss Sanguine. Prominent alumni of the department were also invited to the party to reminisce the joyous moments of the years spent with friends and teachers.
It was a fun filled event at which the freshers got an opportunity not only to showcase their talents but also to interact with the seniors. Moreover, the whole event was organized by Lipika Sikka, an event organizer and alumna of college. Dr. Mukti Gill, Principal of the college exhorted the students to work hard and extended her good wishes for their bright, prosperous and successful future. She extolled the endeavours of staff and students for making the party memorable.
