Students shows posters made by them during Van Mahotsava Week at Green Land |
Ludhiana, July 15, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): Week long festivities based on the theme ‘Go Green’ culminated with English Declamation and Poster Making Competition at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye pass, Ludhiana today.
The students from IX participated in the English Declamation competition on the topic ‘Save Tree’, ‘Conserve Wild Life’, ‘Save Earth, ‘Global Warming – A great threat to life’, ‘Earth overloaded with burden of Pollution’, ‘Save flora and fauna for ecological balance’. The students also highlighted on the dire need to conserve Wild life for ecological balance. They stressed on the urgent need of conserving Petroleum, minerals resources and electricity as well.
Solutions and suggestions were put forth to spread awareness amongst the students to make them realize the importance of preserving flora and fauna. The students of class VIII participated in Inter House Poster Making Competition. Showing sensitivity towards deteriorating environment the students made beautiful posters.
The Principal Baldeep Pandher lauded the efforts of the students and the staff. She said that being sensitive about the environment suggests that we are responsible citizens. It is the duty of every citizen to make unprecedented efforts to save the environment.
In Poster making Jahaan of Jagriti House and Malika of Shakti House bagged First Prize. Gurleen and Lekhana of Shakti House got the second and Jhilmil and Samridhi of Kirti House was awarded third prize. Ansh of Jagriti House and Khushi Khanna of Kirti House got consolation prize. In English Declamation Competition 1st prize was won by Jasleen Kaur from IX Keats, 2nd prize was won by Prabhmeet IX Keats and Radhika from IX Bacon won the 3rd prize.
