Ludhiana, July 27, 2017 (Manisha Sharma): Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated Teej festival with fervor and gaiety. School campus wore a festive look with buntings, fresh flowers and decorations replete with the traditional baagh, phulkaris, charkha, earthern pots, hand fans and chhajj. Children enjoyed traditional cuisine like malpuaas and kheer which were relished by everybody.
A Cultural fest was put forth incorporated with Giddha-the heart and soul of Punjab was performed by lovely little girls of primary wing and senior students and Sufi singing by the students. It was a trumpet call to announce and sing the welcome notes for the Monsoon. The beats of the Punjabi music let, everybody to tap their feet. Traditional games of Punjab have been introduced to the students and they enjoyed the games like stepu, pithu garam, bunte, geete etc.
Students also relished stalls of different eatables festing the monsoon arrivals such as jalebis, gulgulle, bhelpuri, samosas and many other delicious dishes. The students were enthralled with great fervor and festivity spread all over in the premises. The whole campus was beautifully decorated with swings to welcome healthy monsoon. Fragrances of flowers on 'Teej' pervaded the atmosphere. The whole ambience reflected Punjabi culture.
The Principal, Jyoti Pujara enhanced the occasion by acclimate about the history and importance of it and blessed the students to blossom at their best and preserve our rich cultural heritage.
