Ludhiana, July 15, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar organised an ‘Inter House Sufi Singing Competition’ for the students of classes VI-XII. The participants were looking extremely excited and enthusiastic to prove their potential and to give their best in the performance.
The students set the stage on fire with their mesmerizing performances. The whole school echoed with the mellifluous compositions and music.
Principal of the school, Jyoti appreciated all the students for their efforts and performances. She said that such events continuously provide a platform for aspiring singers at the school to perform in front of the audience and enhance their singing skills. She explained them that Sufi music is generally meant as an expression of devotion to God, but it also can be a way to enhance the connection between the physical and spiritual aspects of the listener and the performer. She motivated the students to always showcase their talent in spectra of activities. At the end she announced the judgement and congratulated the winners.
The students were judged on the basis of Voice Skills, Rhythm and Tempo, Vocal Expressions and Entertainment Value. First position was obtained by Sagar Sharma (XI-Commerce) of Jagriti House, Second position was acquired by Chahat (VII-Bacon) of Kirti House and Agrima (VII-Chaucer) of Jagriti House, Third position was won by Arshleen (IX- Chaucer) of Kirti House and Consolation position was bagged by Pragya (VI- Chaucer) of Jyoti House.
