Ludhiana, July 19, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): Be it the feeling of floating and sliding through the water or a break from the heat of summer, swimming fills a wonderful recreational need for everyone. Bal Bharati Public School got another feather in its cap with the new swimming pool on the sprawling campus of Unit-II.
It was inaugurated by School Chairman Nikhil Channa, School Secretary (Manager) L. V. Sehgal, Convener BBPS Sports Council S. K. Bhattacharya, Principal Punam Dogra and Principal, BBPS Pitampura Meenu Goswami on 19 July 2017. Bal Bharatians invoked the blessings of Almighty through Hawan ceremony.
It is an Indoor All Weather Pool with heat pumps and Solar Panels on Swimming Pool roof top. This Half Olympic size swimming pool is 82.5 feet long and 42 feet wide with 3.25-5.5 feet depth. The pool has trainers, coaches and lifeguards. The school plans to train all the students of Unit-II. There was an atmosphere of joy and happiness as school swimming pool is a great attraction for the students. Swimming champions of the school displayed their skills in varied styles and strokes in the newly constructed pool.
Principal Punam Dogra expressed her delight stating that swimming is a wonderful activity which helps the students develop life skills such as sportsmanship, time-management, self-discipline, goal-setting and an increased sense of self-worth.
