Ludhiana, July 26, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): To mark the onset of ‘Sharavan’ month symbolizing the rainy season with all around greenery spreading hope, happiness and prosperity, traditional festival of ‘Hariyali Teej’ was celebrated at Kamla Lohtia S.D. College.
Traditional Punjabi Folk songs, Folk dances, Giddha, swings and the feast of sumptuous ‘Kheer and Malpudas’ were the highlights of the event. Students from all streams participated with full feavour and enjoyed the occasion. Girls all decked up in Vibrant Punjabi Attires added charm to the occasion.
On this eve, a Mehandi competition was also organized in which Prabhjot of B.Com II, Aarzoo of BCA I and Devyani of M.Com II were declared winners with First, Second and Third positions respectively. Appreciation award was also given to Shikha of M.Com II.
Principal Dr. Shiv Mohan Sharma along with Dharam Pal Jain, President, College Managing Committee, R.D. Singhal, Sr. Vice President, Sandeep Aggarwal, Vice President, B.M. Ralhan, Vice President, Sunil Aggarwal, General Secretary, Sanjay Jindal appreciated the talent of the students and highlighted the significance of such events in the all round development of youth.
