Ludhiana, June 20, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): The Department of Computer Science of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines Ludhiana organized a three week Short Term Certificate Course in “Graphics Design and Development”. The course was organized as part of the Skill Development Program of the college to give impetus to the students to know their skills that can help them thrive in the competitive job market as well as instill entrepreneurial spirit in them.
The course was designed to help students acquire graphic designing skills to gain proficiency in applying their creativity to communicating ideas and concepts in both print and digital media. Intensive practical training was imparted to the students using the powerful Adobe Photoshop software package.
As part of the course, the students were taught about the fundamentals of design theory, production process, document set-up and printing methods. They were also taught about the tricks and techniques to create illustrations, enhance photographs, stylize text and synergize all the graphical objects in incredible layouts. The students learnt the art of designing impressive business logos, advertisements, brouchers, magazine covers and posters.
The Principal, Dr Mukti Gill said that in pursuance of the college vision of women empowerment, the college would endeavor to offer such career and market oriented, skill enhancing courses in future also. The College Managing Committee, President, Pritpal Singh Grewal and the Secretary, Gurdish Singh Grewal applauded the efforts of the Principal and the faculty of Department of Computer Science for organizing the skill oriented course.
